National Landcare Network | Canberra | Part time, 30 hours per week

The National Landcare Network is seeking an experienced National Program & Evaluation Manager to lead the delivery, monitoring and evaluation of national programs and help demonstrate the collective impact of community Landcare across Australia.

The National Landcare Network is the national representative body for community Landcare. We work with State and Territory Landcare Organisations, government, industry and communities to strengthen the Landcare movement and support community led environmental outcomes.

About the role

Reporting to the CEO, the National Program & Evaluation Manager will lead the delivery of NLN’s national programs and funded initiatives. The role brings together program and grant delivery, monitoring and evaluation, impact measurement and reporting.

A major focus will be developing and implementing NLN’s National Impact Framework, working across the Landcare network to strengthen how we collect, analyse and communicate evidence of the environmental, social, cultural and economic impact of community Landcare.

You will also play a key role in ensuring national programs and grants are delivered effectively, milestones and funding obligations are met and evidence from our programs informs future investment, program design, policy and advocacy.

Key areas of responsibility

You will:

• Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of national programs including Landcare 2030 and the National Landcare Facilitator Program.

• Manage program and grant delivery against agreed milestones, budgets, outcomes and funding requirements.

• Lead development and implementation of NLN’s National Impact Framework.

• Develop practical monitoring and evaluation approaches including program logic, theories of change, outcomes, indicators, baselines and performance measures.





• Analyse quantitative and qualitative evidence to build a credible national picture of the impact of community Landcare.

• Prepare impact reports, evaluation reports, dashboards, case studies and briefings for the Senior Leadership Team, Board, Members Council and funding partners.

• Coordinate grant reporting, milestone reports and acquittals and maintain appropriate evidence to meet funding and assurance requirements.

• Work with the Senior Leadership Team on grant applications, funding proposals and opportunities for future investment.

• Support First Nations staff and programs and ensure culturally appropriate approaches to program delivery, data and knowledge are maintained.

• Identify and evaluate current approaches and innovations that can strengthen community Landcare outcomes.

About you

We are looking for someone with strong experience in program delivery, grant management and monitoring and evaluation who can work across a national network and turn program activity into credible evidence of impact.

You will have experience managing complex funded programs, developing monitoring and evaluation frameworks and working with multiple delivery partners. You will be comfortable managing milestones, budgets, reporting and acquittals while also being able to step back and assess whether programs are achieving meaningful outcomes.

You will have strong analytical and written communication skills and the ability to turn quantitative and qualitative evidence into clear impact reporting, funding proposals and advice for senior leadership.

Location: Canberra
Hours: 30 hours per week

Salary: $110,000 to $130,000 (Pro rata)
Term: Fixed term until 30 June 2028 with extension subject to funding
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
