At Westmead Hospital, you will be part of a complex Intensive Care Service where clinical expertise and innovation come together. This unique permanent opportunity is ideal for a Registered Nurse who wants to use their ICU experience in a different way - influencing equipment, supporting clinicians and helping shape how care is delivered.

Partner with nursing, medical, Biomedical, Maintenance, quality and other hospital teams.

What you'll be doing
You'll take a proactive lead in the management, evaluation and optimisation of ICU equipment, clinical products and consumables. Using your nursing knowledge, initiative and analytical skills, you'll help ensure clinicians have safe, reliable and fit-for-purpose equipment to support exceptional patient care. Key responsibilities include:

Coordinate the equipment lifecycle - from procurement and implementation through to servicing, upgrades, storage and replacement.





Provide expert advice, education and practical troubleshooting support to ICU staff.

Evaluate new equipment and technologies, facilitate trials and translate frontline feedback into recommendations.

Work with Biomedical and Maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues and minimise disruption to clinical services.

Monitor quality, safety, compliance and cost-effectiveness while contributing to planning, audits and service improvement.

Essential Requirements:

Registration: Current Registration with APHRA as Registered Nurse- Division 1

Selection Criteria:

Demonstrated understanding of the equipment utilised in a tertiary ICU

Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients

Excellent time management and organisation skills with attention to detail

Ability to work with minimal supervision and use initiative

Highly developed communication, coaching and facilitation skills.

Demonstrated skill in the analysis of complex issues, problem solving

Demonstrated ability to predictively plan future assignments
