❤️ About Us
Speaking Therapy is a multidisciplinary team of Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists,
Special Educators and Allied Health professionals who share a passion for helping people communicate, participate and thrive.
We support children, adolescents and adults with a diverse range of communication and developmental needs, including people who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, Autistic people, AAC users, and people with speech, language and other developmental disabilities.
We understand that communication is about much more than speaking. When a person has difficulty understanding others, expressing their thoughts and needs, or being understood, it can affect their relationships, learning, independence and participation in everyday life. At times, this frustration may also be expressed through behaviour.
Our approach is to look beyond the behaviour and understand what the person may be communicating. We work collaboratively with individuals, families, educators and other professionals to build communication skills, support regulation and participation, and find communication approaches that work for each individual.
At Speaking Therapy, we believe everyone deserves a way to communicate and to be heard, understood and included.
Our vision:
Deep inside, every individual with a communication disability has a voice in their heart, a voice that you may not be able to hear with your ears, but it’s a voice that’s valuable, that’s beautiful, that’s precious and full of personality. This voice and who they are is what the world needs to hear.
Our Mission
Our mission is to empower individuals with a communication disability to discover their voice by giving them the tools they need and to help them reach their full potential through learning and the power of communication
