Digestive Diseases Qld (DDQ) is a well-established gastroenterology practice based in St Vincent’s Northside at Chermside. We are seeking an experienced medical secretary to join our team with immediate start available.

About the role
You will play a vital role in the smooth running and growth of our practice. Working closely with our Practice Manager, this is an opportunity for you to be involved in the day to day running of the practice. You will contribute to the continuous improvement of daily processes and in fostering a supportive team environment.
Caring for the needs of our patients and our specialists in a professional and friendly manner is at the core of everything we do.
This is a full time role working 5 days per week, Monday - Friday. The position is based at St Vincent’s Northside with occasional visits to other locations to support doctors with consultation sessions.

- Book follow ups and procedures, take payments and process Medicare claims
- Provide general administration support for the practice including processing of referrals, responding to email correspondence, sending of theatre lists, etc.
Leadership support:
- Confidently manage daily operations and staff
- Assist the practice manager in diary optimisation and management
- Assist the practice manager in improving procedures and efficiencies
Attributes we are looking for:
- Previous reception experience working in a medical (GP or specialist) or allied health practice
- Previous experience in a management or leadership role highly regarded
- Ability to multi task and work calmly under pressure
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of compliance in the health care industry
- A team player attitude and willingness to go the extra mile
- Valid driver’s license preferred (occasional travel to visiting locations).
