This specialist commercial joint sealing contractor is known across Brisbane for technical expertise, practical delivery and accountable outcomes, working directly with builders and construction project teams from hardstand through to final finish with no shortcuts and no subcontractors. As the business continues to grow, they are looking for a commercially minded Finance/Accounts Manager to take ownership of day-to-day financial control, project billing oversight and monthly reporting.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on role at the centre of a growing project-based business. You will take ownership of financial control, project billing oversight, monthly WIP preparation and management reporting, working directly in the detail while managing an Accounts & Project Billing Coordinator and overseeing external consultants who support Accounts Payable, bookkeeping and payroll.
You will sit between Finance and Operations as the primary financial link between the Site & Projects Manager, the operational team, external finance providers and the Directors. Projects range from short jobs completed within a week through to major commercial projects running for several years, many with strict progress claim requirements and contractual billing dates - so this role exists to make sure the business always knows what has been earned, billed, unbilled and owed. There is also real scope to help build the future finance function as the business scales, with the opportunity to shape systems, structure and a team beneath you.

Key Responsibilities

- Demonstrated experience across finance, commercial administration, project finance,



Contracts Administration or a comparable role
- Strong financial and numerical capability - you don't need to be a qualified accountant, but you understand how revenue, billing, cash flow and project performance connect
- Experience working with project-based billing, commercial contracts or construction; construction experience is highly regarded but not essential where you have strong transferable commercial capability
- Experience managing or coordinating others is highly regarded
- Strong systems capability and confidence learning new platforms, with advanced Excel skills highly regarded
- Comfortable working with people who are not finance professionals - you can ask questions, explain what Finance needs and hold people accountable professionally
- A forward-thinking, improvement-focused mindset - you look ahead of problems and are comfortable recommending changes to systems and processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication
