About the role

The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for planning, organising and controlling the day-to-day operations of the restaurant to ensure efficient service, strong operational performance, excellent customer service and compliance with applicable food safety and workplace requirements.

Key responsibilities

- Manage restaurant operations and plan and organise restaurant services and functions
- Consult with chefs regarding menu planning
- Arrange purchasing and pricing of goods in accordance with budgets
- Monitor stock levels, inventory and financial transactions
- Manage operational costs and wastage
- Maintain appropriate restaurant records and assist in achieving financial and operational objectives
- Ensure dining and service facilities are clean, functional and compliant with health and food-safety requirements
- Monitor the quality of food and customer service
- Communicate with customers and respond to feedback
- Select, train, supervise and develop restaurant staff, prepare and manage staff rosters, allocate duties and monitor staff performance

About you





- Minimum of three years of relevant experience in restaurant management or a closely related hospitality management position
- A relevant qualification in Hospitality Management, Restaurant Management or a related discipline is highly regarded
- Strong leadership and people-management abilities
- Experience with restaurant operations, staff rostering, stock control, purchasing and cost management
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements
- Excellent customer-service and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a busy restaurant environment
- Strong organisational, problem-solving and time-management abilities
- Capability to work collaboratively with chefs, kitchen employees and front-of-house staff
- Flexibility to work according to restaurant operating requirements, including evenings, weekends and public holidays where required
