We're seeking a proactive and supportive Floor Coordinator to join our Miinggi Gilinggal Youth Residential Rehabilitation Service in Coffs Harbour.
Miinggi Gilinggal, meaning "Young Heart" in the Gumbaynggirr language, supports young people aged 13 to 18 years experiencing alcohol and other drug challenges within a residential rehabilitation setting.
As Floor Coordinator, you'll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operationa of the program and creating a safe, structured and supportive environment for young people on their recovery journey.
About the Role
Working closely with young people and the wider team, you will:
- Support daily routines, activities and program requirements.
- Assist with appointments, admissions and practical support needs.
- Complete room checks, documentation and shift handovers.
- Support recreational, educational and life skills activities.
- Maintain a safe, structured and welcoming environment.
- Respond to incidents and escalate concerns when required.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team.
This role supports the delivery of the residential program but does not provide counselling or clinical interventions.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Builds positive relationships with young people.
- Is organised, adaptable and reliable.
- Communicates effectively and works well in a team.
- Has experience in youth work, community services, residential care, mental health, AOD or a related field.
- Is passionate about supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes.
Essential Requirements
- Certificate IV in Community Services, Youth Work, Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs, or a related field (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Australian Driver Licence.
- Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check and National Criminal History Check.
