About The Company

Our client is an iconic Melbourne chocolate retailer with a strong heritage in premium chocolate products, gifting and retail experiences.

As they continue to grow, they are focused on evolving and elevating their product offer across gifting, everyday, seasonal and souvenir ranges, strengthening their position across both physical stores and eCommerce.

About The Chance

Reporting to the Managing Director and leading a small, high-performing team, you will be part of the leadership team. Some of your responsibilities will include:

- Owning sales, margin and profitability across product categories
- Managing SKU mix, range structure, pricing strategy and product lifecycle
- Leading the buying, product development and category management function
- Taking ownership of seasonal buying, planning and delivering key seasonal ranges including Easter, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and Father's Day
- Providing direction and leadership to the Buying & Range Manager (Everyday range)
- Sourcing,



negotiating and managing local and international suppliers and contract manufacturers
- Leading packaging development to support premium positioning, gifting appeal and retail execution

About You

The successful candidate will have:

- 5+ years' experience in a similar Buying, Product, Category or Merchandise role
- Leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams
- Outcome driven, can do approach to problem solving
- Strong commercial acumen across sales, margin, pricing and forecasting
- Experience managing suppliers, negotiations and product development
- Proven experience across Speciality Retail or FMCG, highly regarded
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency required
