Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Internal Patient Transport team at John Flynn Private Hospital as a Part-Time Patient Services Assistant.

Joining our supportive and vibrant team, you will provide essential support and assistance to wards and the greater hospital, including theatres. You will play an important role in ensuring patients are transported safely and efficiently throughout the hospital while maintaining their dignity, comfort and safety at all times.

About You

We are looking for a caring, reliable and team-focused individual who is committed to providing a high standard of patient support.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or equivalent
- Recent and relevant experience gained within an acute hospital setting
- A genuine commitment to working as part of a team
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills




- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Sound understanding of patient manual handling and the use of appropriate aides
- Flexibility to work a 7-day rotating roster, including evening, night and on-call shifts

Key Responsibilities

- Safely transport patients between wards, theatres and other areas of the hospital
- Assist with patient transfers and manual handling using appropriate aids
- Prioritise patient dignity, comfort and safety throughout all patient movements
- Work closely with nursing and clinical staff to coordinate patient transfers
- Assist with responses to emergencies as required
- Clean and maintain patient transport equipment within the department
- Ensure equipment is clean, protected and ready for use
- Provide support and assistance to wards, theatres and the greater hospital as required
- Follow hospital procedures and workplace health and safety requirements
