Created by globally respected architect Robin Gibson, our new par 72, 18-hole Championship Course will be situated within a beautifully landscaped parkland precinct, inspired by some of the finest courses in North America and the UK. Make no mistake, what’s coming is a landmark in every sense of the word. It’s a course that rewards thoughtful play and invites golfers to return again and again.
Scheduled to open in Summer 2026/27, it will offer a visually stunning and challenging experience and we’re now looking for a retail skilled to join us as our Golf Shop Manager!
What you can expect in a day in the role:
The Golf Shop Manager leads and manages the daily operation of the Golf Shop, taking ownership of service standards, team coordination, tee time management and professional guest interactions. Working closely with the Golf Operations Manager and Golf Operations Coordinator, this role helps create a smooth, well-organised and positive culture across the golf operations team.
Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Lead and manage daily Golf Shop operations, taking ownership of team coordination and operational flow.
- Manage tee sheet execution and booking accuracy.
- Ensure productive and professional guest check-in processes.
- Coordinate player flow between Golf Shop and tee staging.
- Manage retail transactions and customer service standards, ensuring the Golf Shop operates with a polished, professional and guest-focused approach.
- Process and supervise point-of-sale transactions, including retail sales, bookings,
payments and related reconciliations.
- Lead, coach and support Golf Shop Attendants to deliver consistent service standards and contribute to a positive team culture.
- Work collaboratively with the Golf Operations Manager, Golf Operations Coordinator and Course Services team to support timing, guest needs and seamless daily operations.
- Support retail initiatives and merchandising standards.
- Supervise the stocking, presentation and monitoring of the grab-and-go food and beverage section, including compliance with RSA requirements for pre-packaged alcohol offerings.
What you’ll bring to the role:
Given the specialised nature of this role, you’ll bring strong experience leading and managing a small frontline team, with accountability for daily operations, task allocation, coaching, service standards and supporting a smooth, collaborative operational culture.
The successful candidate will also bring the following:
- Experience in premium retail or high-quality customer service environments, with demonstrated capability in frontline supervision, polished guest engagement, retail presentation standards and daily store coordination.
- Ability to deliver personalised service to a sophisticated customer base, using sound judgement, strong communication skills and a practical understanding of retail operations.
- Ability to quickly acquire the operational knowledge required for golf shop coordination, including tee sheet management, guest check-in, player flow and related systems.
As well as the following licences and qualifications:
- Tasmanian recognised Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
- Certificate III in Retail, Certificate IV in Retail Management, or other relevant qualification in retail, customer service, hospitality, business or frontline management is desirable.
