About This Role
Join a high-performing maintenance team supporting a large-scale Pilbara mining operation. As a MEM Mechanical Maintainer, you'll carry out planned and breakdown maintenance, component change-outs, fault finding and inspections across a diverse fleet of CAT and Komatsu equipment. Working an 8:6 / 7:7 FIFO roster, you'll play a key role in maximising fleet reliability, safety and production performance. Our client is seeking an experienced MEM Mechanical Maintainer to join a high-performing maintenance team supporting a large-scale Pilbara mining operation. Working across a diverse fleet of heavy mobile equipment, you will play a key role in maintaining fleet reliability, maximising equipment availability, and supporting protected and efficient mining operations. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will perform a broad range of maintenance activities across haul trucks, wheel loaders, graders, water carts, and ancillary mining equipment. The role will see you completing scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, component replacements, and major equipment inspections in accordance with site standards and OEM requirements. You will be responsible for diagnosing and rectifying mechanical, hydraulic, powertrain, and pneumatic faults, ensuring equipment is returned to service safely and efficiently. This will involve troubleshooting complex equipment issues, carrying out repairs in the field and workshop environments, and working closely with planners and operations personnel to minimise downtime and optimise fleet performance.
- Completing planned maintenance, statutory inspections, and shutdown work on heavy mobile mining equipment.
- Performing breakdown diagnostics, fault finding, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Carrying out component change-outs including engines, transmissions,
differentials, wheel motors, hydraulic cylinders, pumps, and associated systems.
- Conducting routine inspections to identify defects, wear patterns, and emerging equipment issues before they impact production.
- Servicing and maintaining hydraulic, lubrication, cooling, fuel, braking, and steering systems.
- Interpreting technical manuals, schematics, OEM documentation, and maintenance procedures to support repair activities.
- Ensuring all maintenance work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with site safety and operational requirements.
- Accurately documenting maintenance activities, defect reports, work orders, and equipment history records within SAP.
- Supporting equipment reliability initiatives and contributing to continuous improvement activities across the maintenance function.
- Working collaboratively with supervisors, planners, operators, and fellow tradespeople to coordinate maintenance activities and achieve production targets.
- Participating in pre-start meetings, risk assessments, isolation processes, and permit-to-work activities.
- Maintaining a strong focus on housekeeping, workplace safety, and environmental compliance at all times.

Requirements
- Required
- Australian recognised Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic, Mobile Plant Mechanic, or equivalent trade qualification.
- Minimum 3 years' experience working in a Mobile Equipment Maintenance (MEM) role within the mining industry.
- Proven experience performing preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, fault finding, and component change-outs on heavy mobile equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and powertrain systems.
- Experience interpreting technical manuals, schematics, OEM documentation, and maintenance procedures.
- Exposure to SAP or similar computerised maintenance management systems for recording maintenance activities and work orders.
- Current C Class Manual Driver's Licence.
- High Risk Work Licences such as Forklift (LF), Dogging (DG), and/or Rigging (RB/RI) highly regarded.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices, risk management, and compliance with site procedures.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment while also managing tasks independently.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with maintenance, planning, and operations personnel.
