The Role
Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, this is a diverse and hands-on role sitting at the heart of the Accounts and Administration team. You will take ownership of end-to-end fortnightly payroll using ADP, manage the accounts payable function, and support a broad range of HR administration duties—making it an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and thrives in a busy, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Process end-to-end fortnightly payroll using ADP
- Reconcile PAYG, payroll tax and WorkCover obligations
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with tax, superannuation and employment legislation
- Resolve payroll queries and liaise with ADP and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely payments
- Oversee the processing of Accounts Payable,
General Ledger coding and manage daily banking activities
- Handle cost splits, payment allocation and monthly and EOFY reconciliations
- Assist with the preparation of BAS, FBT and other compliance work
- Support recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, inductions and exit documentation
- Coordinate training sessions; maintain HR policies, procedures and employee records in line with Fair Work requirements
- Generate reports on payroll, leave and HR metrics as required
- General day-to-day accounting and administrative tasks
The Person
- Qualification in Finance, Business Administration or a related field would be preferred
- Previous experience in payroll & accounts payable roles is essential; some HR experience desirable
- Freight forwarding industry experience is preferred
- Sound knowledge of Australian employment law, payroll regulations and Fair Work requirements
- Proficiency in ADP or similar cloud-based payroll software; Cargowise experience highly regarded
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook; strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; high level of confidentiality and data integrity
