About the team

The Peter Mac Patient Experience and Wellbeing Department manages a range of high-impact work in three streams: patient experience, consumer engagement, and wellbeing. We are a diverse and motivated team that shares a goal of improving the care experience of people with cancer. This role sits within the patient experience workstream.

About the role

This is a senior role in our team, and plays a central part in leading the planning, delivery, and evaluation of services that improve patient experience at Peter Mac. You’ll have the opportunity to combine strong project management skills with meaningful stakeholder and consumer engagement. You will manage multiple projects and services, including our peer mentor programs and Patient and Carer Support Service (PACS). You’ll have opportunities to innovate as you design new initiatives to help achieve our Patient and Carer Experience Strategy.

A regular day will see you:

- Partnering with internal teams,

external partners, patients and carers to implement and continuously improve programs and services
- Overseeing patient-facing services under your management, including issue resolution and risk management
- Influencing and engaging stakeholders at all levels by translating program progress and outcomes into messages that build understanding, support and action
- Working directly with patients, carers, and family members through both your portfolio and our public-facing services
- Contributing to a positive, people-centred department culture that encourages collaboration, wellbeing and growth.

About you

We are looking for a personable, motivated professional with project and people management experience. You’re a collaborative and proactive person who builds strong relationships, and thrives in a multidisciplinary environment. You bring empathy, curiosity and a passion for improving outcomes for patients and carers.

You’ll bring with you:

- Proven end-to-end project management experience in complex environments, including managing multiple concurrent projects
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret information, identify opportunities for improvement and develop practical,

evidence informed recommendations
- Experience managing staff and volunteers across a range of services
- Highly developed interpersonal communication skills, including with vulnerable people
- Experience applying principles of person-centred care and consumer participation

We offer a range of benefits which support our people both personally and professionally, including:

- Up to $11,660 in salary packaging to increase your take home pay
- Discounted health insurance and eye care
- A comprehensive health and wellbeing program
- Public transport options at our doorstep and end of journey facilities for cyclists
- Onsite eateries and coffee shops and inviting rooftop garden spaces
- Pathways for professional development and new career opportunities
- Five weeks annual leave (pro-rata for part time) and 17.5% leave loading

We encourage applications from anyone identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. We also welcome anyone who identifies as LGBTQIA+, linguistically, culturally and/or gender diverse, people with disability, and people of any age to apply for our roles.
