About Us
Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is an 863-bed tertiary and quaternary hospital providing a broad range of specialised healthcare services. These include the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, dedicated mental health facilities, maternity, paediatric and neonatal care, as well as the State Adult Burns Service. FSH also delivers highly specialised treatments such as heart and lung transplantation and hyperbaric medicine.

- The state referral centre for Adult Burns, Advanced Heart Failure, Advanced Lung Disease, Heart & Lung Transplant Service, Hyperbaric Medicine, ECMO (inc a Retrieval Service), Advanced Heart Failure Therapies, High Risk Maternity & critically ill Obstetric patients, Neurological Intervention & Imaging Service of Western Australia (NIISwa).
- 40 Beds – each in a single room, with a mixture of negative and positive pressures, temperature controls, heap-filtered and hybrid rooms.

We understand your needs, we support our ICU nurses
- Up to 2 weeks SNUM for experienced Critical Care Nurses.
- Support of 5.95 full time or equivalent (FTE) Associate Nurse Unit Managers who have a mixed clinical and operational portfolio (the ANUM team are Clinical Experts in ICU).
- Dedicated Assistants in Nursing rostered 24/7 who assist in patients’ activities of daily living and pressure area care across all of ICU.
- Protected nursing ratios for hyper acute patients i.e., ECMO & Hi-Flow CRRT are nursed 2:1

- A dedicated Post Graduate Clinical Educator and PG Nurse Education team
- A dedicated Critical Care Nurse & Midwifery Educator who is responsible for the strategic and operational management of our Clinical Education Team.

- Our ICU is actively involved in various projects, from the support of local investigators conducting audits and single centre studies, to leading international clinical trials.

- Must have a minimum of 2 years of recent adult ICU experience.
Job Description
The successful applicant/(s) shall be working alongside multidisciplinary healthcare professionals, you will provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients while supporting their families through challenging circumstances. The Registered Nurse practices within their scope of practice considerate of the Nursing and Midwifery Board’s Nursing Practice Decision Flowchart.
Eligibility to Apply
To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have valid Australian work rights. This includes visa holders. Permanent appointments may be made to individuals who hold citizenship, permanent residency, or visas that enable ongoing employment in Australia. Candidates holding temporary employment visas are welcome to apply and may be employed for the duration of their visa validity, subject to meeting all role requirements.
