About the College

Located on a beautiful 136-acre property in the Yarra Valley, 60 kilometres east of the Melbourne CBD, Worawa Aboriginal College is an Aboriginal community initiative and Australia's only registered Independent Aboriginal Boarding School for girls.

Worawa provides education and boarding for Aboriginal girls in Years 7-12 from communities across Australia, supporting young Aboriginal women to leave the College confident in who they are, where they want to go and what they can contribute to their communities and the wider world.

At the heart of Worawa is a strong commitment to Aboriginal culture, identity and self-determination, with knowledge and respect for Aboriginal cultural beliefs, values and practices embedded in the College ethos.

About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished and highly organised Executive Officer to work closely with our Executive Director/Principal and Board and lead the effective coordination of the Executive Office.

This is a varied and influential role for someone who enjoys working across an organisation, bringing structure to complexity and ensuring important priorities move from discussion to action.

You will play a key role supporting governance, Board administration, executive coordination and organisational reporting, helping ensure key activities,



projects and commitments are effectively coordinated and followed through.

In this role, you will:

- Provide high-level executive support to the Executive Director/Principal.
- Coordinate Board and Committee governance and secretariat functions.
- Coordinate organisational projects and initiatives and monitor progress against agreed actions.
- Coordinate reporting schedules, grant administration and information required for audits, submissions and funding reports.
- Coordinate the College's policy governance and document management processes.
- Support stakeholder engagement and coordinate key executive communications, meetings and documentation.

About You

As an Aboriginal-led College, Worawa is committed to strengthening Aboriginal representation within its workforce and particularly encourages Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates to apply.

You may already be working as an Executive Officer, Executive Assistant, Governance Coordinator, Governance Officer, Board Secretariat professional or senior administrator and be looking for a role with greater variety, purpose and organisational exposure.

You do not need to come from a school setting. What matters most is that you are highly organised, proactive and an exceptional communicator , with the ability to see the bigger picture while keeping a firm eye on the detail.





You will bring:

- Experience providing high-level support to a CEO, Executive Director, Principal or senior executive.
- Experience supporting Boards and governance structures, including secretariat functions.
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to prepare reports, correspondence, agendas and meeting papers.
- Strong organisational skills and experience coordinating projects, activities or events.
- Sound judgement, discretion and the ability to work with a high degree of initiative and independence.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills, together with an understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal cultures.

Qualifications in governance, business administration, public administration, project management or a related field will be highly regarded, along with relevant experience in education, community services or Aboriginal organisations.
