Seeking suitable candidates for a full time permanent position based in either Melbourne or Adelaide.
About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Workplace Health & Safety Officer to lead and coordinate our national Work Health, Safety and Environmental (WHS&E;) programs. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate safety professional to drive a positive safety culture, ensure legislative compliance, and support operational excellence across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain WHS&E; policies, procedures, and programs aligned with legislative requirements, Australian Standards, and best practice.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to managers and employees on workplace health and safety matters.
- Coordinate and conduct site safety audits, inspections, and compliance reviews across multiple locations.
- Lead incident and hazard management processes, including investigations, reporting, corrective actions, and preventative measures.
- Develop risk assessments, Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety alerts, and other WHS documentation.
- Manage WHS records and documentation in accordance with legislative and company requirements.
- Coordinate workplace safety training programs, including emergency wardens, first aiders, and WHS committee members.
- Support safety committees and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- across the business.
- Act as a key contact for WHS&E; matters, including liaising with regulators and external stakeholders when required.
- Maintain ownership and administration of company safety management systems and software.
About You
- Qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety or a related discipline,
or a willingness to undertake further study.
- Sound knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, standards, and compliance requirements.
- Experience implementing and maintaining workplace safety programs and systems.
- Strong organisational, planning, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and confidence using digital systems and databases.
- The ability to build effective relationships and influence positive safety outcomes across all levels of the organisation.
- High levels of professionalism, discretion, and integrity when handling confidential information.
Requirements
- Current Driver's Licence.
- Advanced First Aid Certificate.
- Mental Health First Aid Certificate.
- Willingness to travel interstate as required.
- Availability to work outside standard business hours when required.
