We are seeking to establish a pool of Mainstream Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

Banksia Grove PS has been selected as one of five trial schools for the new five day a week Kindergarten Programme for 2026 to 2027.

Suitable applicants will ideally have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to collaborate with colleagues to create and maintain a supportive and inclusive education programme to meet the specific needs of students. They will ideally show initiative,



be open to new ideas and be flexible with a genuine understanding of how children learn through play being responsive to their needs and learning opportunities.

The following feature in our school practices: Sounds Write, Talk 4 Writing, Heggerty, mindfulness practices, Berry Street Education, Zones of Regulation and restorative practices. The school is a Positive Behaviour school with a strong focus on developing behavioural and emotional competency in all students. Staff support students with co-regulation and self-regulation using Zones of Regulation and restorative approaches.
