Position Information

Auburn Girls High School has an academically selective cohort, an additional high potential and gifted class, and mainstream classes. The school also has a support unit, and an active Learning and Support Team. There is a strong focus on quality teaching, effective support for learning and wellbeing, and dynamic, creative, and positive learning environments. The school has an enrolment of approximately 850 students, 98% of whom have a language background other than English.

Specific Selection Criteria

- 1. Proven ability to foster and sustain a positive, inclusive school culture aligned with the school’s core values,



including proactive engagement with parents and the wider school community.
- 2. Proven ability to collaborate with the executive team to lead strategic learning initiatives by driving whole-school programs that maximise student academic achievement and learning outcomes.
- 3. Demonstrated experience in successfully managing complex wellbeing concerns fostering engagement, attendance and a positive culture across a diverse student population.
- 4. Demonstrated experience in leading high-impact professional learning by building teacher capacity to deliver high-quality, differentiated instruction for a wide range of learners that supports the School Excellence Plan.

General Selection Criteria

- 1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
