Position

With several data centre projects in advanced development across Australia, the business is building out its engineering capability and is looking for a senior HV subject matter expert to help lead that charge.

This is a newly created role and you will define what good looks like for HV engineering in this business and have the backing of leadership to do it.

You will be the primary technical authority for all HV substation and connection infrastructure, setting engineering standards, leading technology evaluations, driving EPC and consultant procurement,



and owning design outcomes from concept through to commissioning.

Ideal profile

Above all, you are energised by genuinely novel technical problems.The intersection of data centre power loads, grid connection constraints and AI-driven infrastructure demand is creating engineering challenges that don't have established playbooks.

You will bring:

- A depth of experience with contestable connection assets and HV electrical systems up to 300kV+, ideally grounded in primary plant design for HV substations
- Full project lifecycle exposure across procurement, ECI and construction and commissioning phases.
- Experience leading technology evaluations, tender processes and detailed design delivery for HV infrastructure
- The ability to translate highly complex technical problems into clear decisions for leadership
