The Role

The Ward Clerk is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of administrative services that support the day-to-day operations of the ward. This includes answering and directing telephone enquiries, maintaining adequate ward supplies, coordinating and booking patient visits, managing medical records, and ensuring accurate and timely data entry of all patient transactions.

The Ward Clerk utilises the Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR) system to accurately enter, update, and maintain patient information, supporting key clinical and administrative processes including patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and other ward-based workflows.



The role contributes to the smooth operation of the ward and requires a high level of integrity and confidentiality when handling confidential patient information.

Our Location, Team, and Service

The Forensic Hospital is a high-secure forensic mental health facility in Current South Wales, operated by Justice Health NSW. This facility provides specialist, therapeutic inpatient care for adults and adolescent forensic, correctional, and high-risk civil patients.

A multidisciplinary team of medical, nursing, and allied health professionals are dedicated to providing a care across the clinical spectrum, from high dependency and acute care, to long stay and rehabilitation care.

- A mandatory and comprehensive two-week, full-time orientation is provided for all new staff at Forensic Hospital. All days are paid. The next intake dates will be on 12-23 October 2026 and 16-27 November 2026.
