Youth and Young Adults Ministry Worker or Associate Pastor

Part Time – 3 days (.6FTE)

Responsible to:
The church through the Senior Pastor and Eldership.

Key responsibilities:

- Lead youth and young adult ministry teams.
- Lead, along with other volunteer leaders, individual discipleship of youth and young adults.
- In conjunction with any other youth ministry workers, oversee the planning and running of the Friday night youth program.
- In conjunction with any other youth ministry workers, oversee the planning and running of the midweek youth discipleship groups.
- Under the supervision of the Senior Pastor and Elders, train and develop leaders in training in the youth group and young adults ministry.
- Organise the Teens group during Sunday morning services during school terms.
- Be part of Caves Beach gym, with a focus on building relationships with youth and young adults.
- Support the Senior Pastor in the planning and conducting of worship services.
- Attend pastoral team meetings, including pastoral care as available.
- Ensure ongoing personal spiritual and leadership development agreed to by the Senior Pastor.

For the appropriately gifted person, there is the possibility of additional employment and funded training through Caves Beach Gym, a ministry of Swansea Baptist Church.

Organisational requirements:

1. Work within the guidelines of the constitution of the church and Church policies and procedures.
2. Be committed to the beliefs, values and mission of Swansea District Baptist Church.
3. Meet regularly with the Senior Pastor and at least bi-monthly with a designated Elder.

Qualifications and gifts:

1. A passion, gifting, and experience in ministry with youth and young adults.
2. Commenced, or willing to commence, theological training as agreed with the Church Leadership.
3. Have, or can obtain a current employed WWCC, and police check
4. Completed, or willing to complete the Creating Secure Spaces training.
5. An interest or experience in fitness would be advantageous to this role.

Remuneration:
Remuneration will be based on NSW/ACT Baptist guidelines, in line with experience.
