Job Description

The Aged Care, Rehabilitation and Palliative Care Division is seeking a skilled Dietitian to join the Allied Health team within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) on a part-time basis.

This is an opportunity to provide meaningful, patient-centred nutrition care in a busy healthcare environment, with a contract through to 12 September 2027.

What You'll Be Doing

- Providing evidence-based nutrition assessment, diagnosis, and intervention to inpatients and outpatients across relevant clinical areas within Aged Care, Rehabilitation and Palliative Care
- Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised care plans that reflect each patient's clinical and personal needs
- Contributing to quality improvement activities, clinical audits, and the ongoing development of dietetic services within NALHN

NALHN provides a range of hospital (inpatient), outpatient, community and home-based services across multiple sites in Adelaide's north and north-eastern suburbs, including Aboriginal health, mental health, and GP services.

Lyell McEwin Hospital - the major hospital in northern Adelaide for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetric, paediatrics and outpatient services.

Modbury Hospital - a general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.

About the Candidate

- Tertiary qualification in Nutrition and Dietetics and eligibility for membership with Dietitians Australia
- Demonstrated experience in clinical dietetics, with competence in acute, subacute and/ or community health settings
- Solid communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to SA Health's values of care, excellence, integrity, and respect in all patient and team interactions
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise effectively in a hospital environment
- Current national police clearance or willingness to obtain one prior to commencement

To be eligible for this position, you must have an appropriate Degree of equivalent qualification which entitles eligibility for full membership with Dietitians Australia (DA).

In this role you will have robust interpersonal and communication skills which will enable you successfully problem solve, resolve conflicts and negotiate, including the ability to engage in difficult conversations, whilst building and maintaining relationships. An ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and demonstrated resilience within a stressful and complex environment is essential to this role.
