About The Role

The Senior Coordinator, Monographs provides strategic leadership in the development and acquisition of the library’s monograph collections to support the teaching, learning, and research needs of Swinburne. This role is responsible for the analysis, evaluation, and licensing of resources, ensuring optimal use of the library’s budget and systems to deliver high-quality resources aligned with institutional priorities.

This is an ongoing, full-time or part-time (job share) position based in Hawthorn.

About You

- Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of emerging issues, challenges and trends in collection development, acquisitions, licensing, and management within an academic library setting.
- Leadership: Highly developed leadership skills, including an ability to effectively lead, develop and motivate teams.
- Communication: Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation and written/oral communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to initiate and establish positive working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Analytics: Strong practical skills in utilising analytics tools and managing collection-related data to assess resource performance, identify trends, and provide evidence-based recommendations.
- Workflow Development and Innovation: Extensive experience in designing and refining workflows, integrating new technologies or approaches to improve efficiency, and documenting processes for operational consistency.




- Budget Management: Sound knowledge and understanding of budget and financial processes.
