Job Description

Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced and motivated HSE Professional to provide site-based safety support for Rio Tinto across QAL and BSL for a 12-month period, with the possibility of extension.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an HSE professional looking to gain valuable experience within a major heavy-industry environment.

About the role

n

Working closely with site-based operational teams, you will provide practical HSE support and help promote a proactive safety culture across the site.

n

- Providing day-to-day HSE support to site-based teams
n
- Conducting field interactions, safety observations and site inspections
n
- Supporting incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions
n
- Assisting with risk assessments, JHAs, SWMS, Take 5s and safety documentation
n
- Coaching workers and leaders on safe work practices and site requirements
n
- Supporting compliance with safety procedures, policies and legislative requirements
n
- Participating in toolbox talks, pre-starts and safety meetings
n
- Monitoring hazards, controls and close-out of corrective actions
n
- Supporting onboarding, inductions and contractor safety requirements
n
- Building strong relationships with operational teams, site leaders and contractors
n

About you

n

n
- Relevant HSE / WHS qualifications,



ideally a Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry qualification
n
- Previous experience in heavy industry, construction, mining, manufacturing, processing or a similar site-based workplace
n
- Approximately 1+ year of relevant HSE experience is welcomed, provided you have strong capability and the right attitude
n
- A practical understanding of safety systems, risk management, compliance and incident reporting
n
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with workers, contractors and site leadership
n
- A proactive, hands-on approach to workplace safety
n
- Ability to work effectively within operational environments
n
- Ability to undertake a pre-employment medical
n
