Role Description

The Licensed Customs Broker is a full-time, on-site role based in Sydney, NSW. The role is responsible for preparing and lodging customs declarations, managing tariff classifications, and ensuring accurate duty and tax assessments in line with Australian and international regulations. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing import and export documentation, liaising with customs authorities and other regulatory bodies, and resolving clearance issues in a timely manner. The broker will collaborate with internal freight forwarding and operations teams to coordinate shipments, monitor compliance risks, and support productive movement of goods.



The position also involves providing customs-related advice to clients, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes, and contributing to process improvements that enhance overall customs compliance and service quality.

Qualifications

- Strong customs brokerage expertise, including tariff classification, duty assessment, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in import processes, documentation, and Australian border and quarantine requirements.
- Proficiency in export procedures, including preparation of export declarations and adherence to international frameworks.
- Solid understanding of international trade practices, trade agreements, and global customs regulations.
- Effective customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly, manage inquiries, and build long-term client relationships.
- Current customs broker license or equivalent accreditation as required in Australia.
- Experience working with customs and freight management systems and strong attention to detail in data entry and documentation.
- Ability to work on-site in Sydney, NSW, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in logistics, international trade, supply chain, or a related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with operations, freight forwarding, and compliance teams.
