About Us
Peel Aquatic Swimming Club (PAQ), based in Mandurah, WA, is seeking an experienced Head Swimming Coach to lead and develop our competitive swimming program. This is an opportunity to shape swimmer development, team culture and the future direction of a growing club.
PAQ aims to provide a clear pathway from junior development to State and National-level competition in a positive, inclusive club environment.
About the Role
As Head Coach, you will plan, deliver and develop PAQ's competitive swimming program.
The role combines hands-on coaching with leadership of the wider coaching team, working closely with swimmers, coaches and the Club Committee to build strong pathways, high standards and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver high-quality training across competitive squads.
- Develop swimmers from junior level to State and National competition.
- Create annual plans, squad standards and athlete pathways.
- Provide technical coaching in strokes, starts, turns, underwater skills and race strategy.
- Mentor assistant coaches and promote consistency across the program.
- Build strong relationships with swimmers, families, officials, coaches and the Committee.
About You
We are looking for an experienced competitive swimming coach who is passionate about athlete development,
program growth and positive team culture.
- Minimum five years' competitive coaching experience, including senior, lead or head coach experience.
- Proven ability to develop swimmers to State and/or National Championship level.
- Strong technical knowledge and experience designing effective training programs.
- Knowledge of athlete development, annual planning and competition preparation.
- Excellent leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
Essential Requirements
- Swimming Australia Development Coach accreditation or higher, or recognised equivalent.
- Current Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance, First Aid and CPR, or ability to obtain before commencement.
- Availability for early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, competitions, camps and club activities as required.
Desirable
- Swimming Australia Advanced Coach accreditation or recognised equivalent.
- Experience at national-level competition or in a performance-development environment.
- Knowledge of contemporary swimming performance, including athlete monitoring and strength and conditioning integration.
