The Marketing and Communications Unit (MCU) is part of the Media and Marketing Section (MMS) which sits within the Governance and Capability Service (G&CS;). G&CS; contributes to SAPOL’s vision of ‘Safer Communities’ by providing executive and policy support functions to the Commissioner of Police and plays a vital role in fostering meaningful engagement between SAPOL, its workforce, and the community. The Service ensures the organisation is aligned, informed, and equipped to deliver high-quality policing services across South Australia.

The Publications Manager leads and manages SAPOL’s internal communications and publications program, providing strategic direction and evaluation of communication activities that support SAPOL’s strategic objectives.
The role is responsible for the administration and delivery of internal communications, including What Matters Most, SA Police Gazette and Police Connect content, ensuring consistent and effective dissemination of information across the organisation at a state-wide level. The position also oversees the planning and delivery of Blueprint magazine.
The role oversees the development, promotion, and implementation of communication strategies, campaigns, and initiatives that engage SAPOL employees and support corporate objectives. It also provides communication advice and project oversight to strengthen and enhance employee engagement and communication outcomes.
The Publications Manager leads and develops a high-performing publications team and provides expert guidance to the SAPOL Executive Leadership Team on internal communications and employee engagement to drive informed decision‑making and organisational outcomes.

- The incumbent may be assigned to other duties at this remuneration level or equivalent.
- Some out of hours work and intra/interstate travel may be required.
- The incumbent is required to participate in SAPOL’s iEngage program.
Salary
ASO7 - $116,089 - $125,490 per annum.
