The successful candidate will be responsible for MIG welding and general workshop duties, including:
- Operating manufacturing and processing machinery
- MIG welding mild steel components
- Tack welding and welding components to required specifications
- Reading and interpreting welding instructions and production requirements
- Preparing metal surfaces, including de-burring, grinding and cleaning prior to welding
- Using hand tools, power tools and general workshop equipment
- Performing manual handling duties
- Operating a forklift where appropriately licensed
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area
- Following all safety, quality and operating procedures
- Maintaining high production and housekeeping standards
- We are looking for someone who demonstrates:
- Previous experience in a steel fabrication or manufacturing environment
- MIG welding experience
- A strong safety awareness and commitment to safe work practices
- Reliability and a robust work ethic
- A stable and consistent work history
- Good communication skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Pride in producing quality workmanship
- Good attention to detail
- The legal right to work in Australia
