Who we are:

Inspire Ability, based in Warners Bay and Rathmines, is a multidisciplinary therapy support service for children and young people aged 2-18. We believe that everyone learns best when they are having fun, so we approach therapy with a creative mindset. We currently offer occupational and speech therapy to our amazing clients by combining traditional therapy with innovative approaches using music, singing, drama, dance and art.

We train our staff in the use of these creative elements and encourage our team to use their own creative interests to connect and engage with clients. Our mission is to Inspire Ability Through Creativity.

What we are looking for:

This position is open to a passionate allied health assistant seeking part time or casual work. The AHA will assist therapists in delivering high-quality care to children with various developmental, communication, and functional challenges. This position requires a compassionate individual with strong communication skills and a passion for working with children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Clinical Support:

- Assist occupational and speech therapists during therapy sessions by implementing therapeutic activities and interventions as directed.

- Prepare and maintain therapy materials, ensuring all equipment is clean, organized, and readily available.

- Document client progress and report any notable changes or concerns to the supervising therapist.

- Assessment scoring under the direction of the therapist

- Developing resources, toolkits, school visit tools, group programs and other items as directed by the therapist

- Writing session notes in relation to client’s goals.





- Assist with running groups.

2. Client Interaction:

- Establish rapport with children and their families to create a supportive and engaging therapy environment.

- Working independently with clients under the mentorship of the therapist to implement specific programs designed to address skill development.

- Work independently in school environments after training has been received to complete developmental screeners, write reports based on information gathered and work with children in group settings to address challenges.

3. Cleaning and Tidying:

- Regularly clean and tidy clinic spaces, including therapy rooms, waiting areas, and communal spaces (bathroom and kitchen), to ensure a secure and welcoming environment for clients and staff.

- Disinfect therapy equipment and materials between uses, following infection control protocols.

4. Administrative Tasks:

- Assist with answering the phone, scheduling appointments, maintaining client records and any other administrative task as directed by the admin team.

- Participate in team meetings, contributing to discussions about client care and clinic operations.

The right candidate would be:
- Currently studying a Bachelor of Speech Pathology

- Very valuable at time management with effective written communication skills

- Able to develop excellent rapport with children and adults

- Team focused, enjoy being in a collaborative multidisciplinary team

- Flexible and humble - willing to help the team wherever they can

- Available to start in late January 2027

The right candidate would have:

- Current drivers’ licence with access to a reliable vehicle

- Current working with children check
