Sedgmoor Holdings is seeking an experienced Agricultural Machinery Mechanic to join our 4,600-hectare cropping and irrigation operation near Bordertown, South Australia.

The position is primarily responsible for the inspection, servicing, diagnosis, repair and preventative maintenance of agricultural machinery and equipment during our intensive pre-harvest and harvest period.

Key responsibilities:

- Service and repair combines, tractors, sprayers and other agricultural machinery
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Carry out welding, fabrication and general machinery repairs
- Undertake preventative maintenance and pre-harvest machinery preparation
- Respond to breakdowns during harvest and minimise machinery downtime
- Repair and maintain hydraulic systems and agricultural implements
- Maintain service records and identify parts and repair requirements
- Assist with irrigation and other farm mechanical maintenance where required




- Operate agricultural machinery when required during peak periods

Essential experience and qualifications:

- Trade qualification or substantial experience as an agricultural machinery, diesel or heavy-equipment mechanic
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills
- Experience with hydraulic systems
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Knowledge of machinery electrical systems
- Experience servicing and maintaining large agricultural equipment
- Current driver's licence
- Ability to work independently and respond to breakdowns under time pressure

Experience with contemporary combines, tractors, sprayers, telehandlers and other large agricultural machinery would be highly regarded.

Pay: $38.50 – $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38.0 – 50.0 per week
