The Opportunity

We’re looking for a proactive Buying Assistant who brings strong attention to detail, an interest in products and the ambition to develop into a Buyer.

Working closely with our buying team, you’ll support the development and delivery of product ranges, with a particular focus on seasonal categories. You’ll help keep buying files, samples, supplier information and deadlines on track, while building your understanding of product selection, range planning and commercial decision-making.

This is a great opportunity for someone with buying or merchandising support experience who is ready to take on more responsibility. We’re looking for someone who asks questions, thinks about how products will perform and takes pride in getting the details right.

What You’ll Do

- Prepare and maintain accurate buying files, product information, pricing and order documentation.
- Support range development and reviews, checking how proposed products fit within the existing range.
- Assist with product research, competitor pricing checks and sales data analysis to support buying decisions.
- Liaise with international suppliers to follow up on product details, samples, pricing and timelines.
- Coordinate samples, approvals and product photography requirements.




- Work with Buying and Marketing to ensure packaging briefs and product information are accurate and complete.
- Track key seasonal deadlines, flag issues early and keep everyone informed.
- Check your work carefully so information is complete and ready for the next stage.

What You’ll Bring

- At least two years’ experience in buying, merchandising or product coordination, ideally within retail, wholesale or FMCG.
- An interest in products and a developing understanding of what makes a range commercially successful.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with pricing, spreadsheets and product data.
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail and follow-through.
- Clear communication skills and the confidence to ask questions and clarify requirements.
- The ability to manage competing deadlines in a busy environment.
- A willingness to learn, take feedback on board and build towards greater buying responsibility.
