Community Services Worker - Bilingual (Cantonese /or Mandarin)

Start Date: 21st Sept 2026

End Date: 20th Sept 2027

Pay Rate: $46 per hour plus Super

Location: Ultimo Community Centre (but will work across multiple centres)

Hours of work: A typical day would be 9:30 to 4:30

Complete Staff Solutions is seeking a Bilingual Community Services Worker to support the delivery of community programs, activities and events across City of Sydney community centres.

This role is focused on community engagement, program delivery, community development and connecting with local residents with information and services.

You will work closely with community members, local organisations, service providers and internal stakeholders to develop and deliver programs that encourage social connection, participation, inclusion and community resilience.

Key responsibilities

- Plan, coordinate and deliver community programs, activities, workshops and events.

- Engage with local residents and community groups to identify emerging community needs and opportunities.

- Develop and maintain relationships with community organisations, service providers and other stakeholders.

- Promote participation and social connection within the local community.

- Provide information about relevant community programs, services and referral pathways.

- Support multicultural and diverse communities to access appropriate information and services.





- Coordinate community activities and assist with the day-to-day operation of community centres.

- Monitor and review programs to ensure they meet community needs and strategic objectives.

- Work collaboratively with internal teams, external organisations and community partners.

- Ensure activities and centre operations comply with relevant policies, procedures and legislation.

About you

- We are particularly interested in candidates with backgrounds in:
- Experience with older adults/Over65s in the Aged Care sector, particularly in facility settings (e.g. Aged Care, Community Centres).

- Community Development and Engagement

- Social Planning /Social Services / Community Programs

You will have:

- A degree in Social Sciences, Community Development or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering community programs, activities or events.

- Robust community engagement and stakeholder management skills.

- Experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

- Fluent Cantonese and/or Mandarin, with competent Chinese reading and writing skills.

- Current Class C Driver Licence.

- Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.

- Two work references.

- Ability to obtain a Police Check.
