Lead the delivery of secure, reliable, customer-focused toll roads and tolling services across NSW.

This is a unique opportunity to lead one of the newest agencies in the Transport portfolio and shape a fairer, simpler and more customer-focused tolling system for the people of NSW.

NSW Motorways was established to increase transparency in the toll road sector, lead reform and strengthen customer focus, governance and accountability. Its mandate extends across the operation and oversight of toll roads, toll collection and retail services, customer advocacy, toll relief, compliance and enforcement, commercial arrangements and the stewardship of publicly owned motorway assets.

The agency is responsible for Government-owned and operated motorways and oversees 10 long-term private motorway concessions across more than 160 kilometres of the network. Its responsibilities will continue to grow as new motorway assets are completed and existing concessions ultimately return to public ownership.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Secretary of Transport and forming part of the Transport executive leadership team, the Chief Executive will lead NSW Motorways through its next phase of growth and reform. Responsible for the state's tolled motorway network, the role combines policy, operations, infrastructure, customer service, commercial partnerships and major reform delivery in one of the most visible and strategically important areas of the transport portfolio.

The Chief Executive will oversee tolling operations, customer and advocacy functions, toll relief programs, motorway assets and private toll road concessions, while driving improvements in network performance, customer experience, transparency and accountability.

The role also leads strategic partnerships that protect the State's interests while delivering better outcomes for motorists and the wider community.

As the leader of a growing agency established following the Independent Toll Review, the Chief Executive will shape the future of toll roads and tolling services in NSW, building organisational capability and delivering reforms that make the system fairer, simpler and more customer focused.

About You

You are a credible and influential executive leader with a track record of leading complex organisations through change, delivering results in high-profile environments and building strong relationships across government, industry and the community.

You bring strong strategic, commercial, asset custodian and operational leadership experience, together with the ability to balance customer, public policy and business outcomes. You are comfortable navigating complexity, leading large-scale transformation and providing clear direction in environments subject to significant public and stakeholder scrutiny.

Your leadership style is collaborative, authentic and values driven. You build high-performing teams, foster a culture of accountability and innovation, and create an environment where people can thrive while delivering meaningful outcomes for customers and communities.

Most importantly, you are motivated by the opportunity to shape the future of toll roads and tolling services in NSW, improving transparency, reliability,

affordability and customer experience for the millions of people who rely on the network every year. You are an accomplished executive with experience leading complex organisations through reform, transformation and operational delivery.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of toll roads and tolling services across NSW while leading a growing agency with a significant public impact.

Why join NSW Motorways?

The scale and reach of the tolled motorway network make this a significant leadership opportunity. The network supports more than one million trips on an average day and plays an important role in connecting people, businesses, freight and essential services across Greater Sydney.

As Chief Executive, you will have the opportunity to shape a growing agency, lead nationally significant reform and deliver practical improvements that customers can see and experience. Your leadership will help ensure that NSW’s toll roads and tolling services are safe, reliable, transparent, accessible and financially responsible.
