Your new role:

As a Cook within Operational Services at Princess Alexandra Hospital, you will play an important role in delivering safe, nutritious and high-quality meals for patients across the hospital.

You will

Prepare, produce and present quality meals in line with production schedules and patient dietary requirements.

Assist with staff training, provide direction and help maintain efficient kitchen operations.

Support stock rotation, ordering, receiving and effective use of food supplies.

Contribute to quality improvement, workplace safety and excellent patient-focused food services.

About you:

You are a qualified and motivated cook who takes pride in preparing safe, nutritious and high-quality meals. You work well in a busy team environment, can confidently prioritise tasks and are comfortable taking responsibility when required. you will have:

Trade-qualified Chef with knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, Cook Chill and Sous Vide.

Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, kitchen procedures and safe equipment use.

Ability to provide direction to staff, organise work priorities and contribute to an effective team environment.

Strong communication, teamwork and customer-focused skills with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.

We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a protected clinical environment.

We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
