The Position

A Donation Sorter is at the heart of our donation process. You’ll be the person helping turn generous community donations into quality goods that can be sold in our shops and help support people doing it tough. Working alongside our staff and volunteers, you’ll help keep donations moving from the moment they arrive — unpacking, sorting, checking, preparing and packing items, as well as loading and unloading a variety of donated goods. You’ll also provide all-round support across our warehouse and donation operations, helping to keep the warehouse organised, safe and running smoothly.

This is a hands-on, physically active role that involves handling large volumes of donated goods and regular manual lifting. You’ll follow safe lifting practices and WHS procedures while ensuring donations are processed efficiently and ready for their next chapter.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

At Vinnies, we value our employees and are committed to providing a comprehensive range of benefits that enhance their work-life balance and overall well-being. Here are some of the benefits we offer:

- Enterprise Agreement Classification Retail Level 1 with an hourly rate of $28.91

- Access to an EAP program that supports your health and overall well-being

About You

You’re someone who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in completing tasks to a high standard.

You’re comfortable working through repetitive sorting tasks and can remain focused and organised while processing a high volume of donated goods.

You’re physically capable of working in an active environment that involves regular movement, lifting and manual handling. This includes handling bags of donations weighing up to 15 kilograms, as well as assisting with shared loads of furniture and other items of varying weights, in line with safe manual handling practices and National Standards. You understand the importance of working safely and are comfortable following manual handling and WHS procedures to help keep yourself and others safe.

Successful candidates must be willing to complete a National Police Check upon commencement.
