Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Jewellery CAD Designer with 5+ years of experience to join our studio in Mosman, Sydney.

This role is on site. There is no ability for a working from home arrangement.

Grew & Co has been designing and handcrafting engagement rings and fine jewellery since 2006, working across natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds and coloured gemstones. The work covers the full range: a piece from our collections made as it stands, one of our designs adapted to suit a client, and one-off commissions with no starting point at all. In this role you will work closely with Simon, our owner and designer, and with our jewellers, from concept through to production.

What you will do

- Design pieces from concept and client brief through to production-ready CAD
n
- Produce concept illustrations and presentation renders that a client can make a decision from
n
- Model organic and sculptural work as well as classic settings
n
- Adapt existing designs, and remodel inherited pieces
n
- Prepare, orient and support files, and print models on our Asiga
n
- Resolve setting and fit questions with our jewellers before a piece is cast
n
- Work through revisions while holding the integrity of the original design
n




- Attend a client consultation when a design needs to be visualised in person
n
- Manage your own timelines across several jobs at once
n
- Maintain the design library so that a piece can be resized or remade years later
n

About you

n

n
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Jewellery CAD Designer within the jewellery industry
n
- Advanced skills in MatrixGold (essential) and Rhino 8
n
- Solid in organic and sculptural form, not only parametric building
n
- Able to render to presentation standard, since clients approve a design from your renders
n
- You design for manufacture, so your models come off the printer buildable
n
- Good with clients on the occasions a design needs explaining in person
n
- Efficient, self-directed, and able to work to deadlines
n
- A portfolio of your own design work
