Sante Recruitment is seeking an experienced Specialist General Physician to join the General Medicine team at Gladstone Hospital, part of Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service.

This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who enjoys broad-based general medicine and wants to work in a supportive regional hospital environment, with the prospect to make a genuine difference to the health outcomes of patients across the Gladstone and Banana regions.

The Opportunity The General Medicine Department is an important part of Gladstone Hospital's medical service and provides care to a broad and diverse patient population.

n

As a Specialist General Physician, you will work collaboratively with the medical, nursing and allied health teams to provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient care across a broad range of medical presentations.

n

The Role Offers The Opportunity To

n

n
- Provide specialist General Medicine services to inpatients and outpatients.
n
- Manage patients with complex, chronic and multi-system medical conditions.
n
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to junior medical staff.
n
- Work closely with the Emergency Department and other hospital specialties.
n
- Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement and service development.
n
- Contribute to teaching and supervision of junior doctors and medical students.
n
- Participate in the General Medicine on-call roster, including after-hours responsibilities.
n
- Work as part of a collegial and supportive multidisciplinary team.
n
- Contribute to the ongoing development of General Medicine services at Gladstone Hospital.
n

The department has a dedicated medical team comprising Staff Specialists, Principal House Officers, Resident Medical Officers and Interns, providing a supportive environment for both experienced physicians and those interested in developing regional medical services. (Queensland Health Careers)

The Queensland Health remuneration package is highly competitive.

$216,643 – $251,642 per annum

n

L18 – L24

Senior Staff Specialist

n

$259,072 – $274,678 per annum

L25 – L27

n

Total remuneration packages can reach approximately $510,669 – $557,878 per annum, depending on classification and applicable allowances. (Queensland Health Careers)

About You We Are Seeking a Physician Who

n

n
- Holds FRACP or equivalent specialist qualifications in General Medicine/Internal Medicine.
n
- Is registered, or eligible for registration, with AHPRA.
n
- Has appropriate experience in General Medicine.
n
- Demonstrates strong clinical leadership and communication skills.
n
- Is committed to multidisciplinary patient care.
n
- Has an interest in teaching and supporting junior medical staff.
n
- Is able to participate in the relevant on-call arrangements.
n
- Demonstrates a commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.
n

International Medical Graduates are encouraged to enquire, provided they meet the requirements for specialist registration with AHPRA and the relevant specialist college.
