We are looking for an experienced and passionate radio newsreader to join our Nova Entertainment/Smooth FM newsroom in a casual capacity, with opportunities to work across both brands and support network-wide coverage.

We welcome applications from candidates based in Melbourne who can identify and deliver stories that resonate with local audiences, while contributing to national news coverage when required.

You will work independently but be fully supported by a team of experienced newsreaders and journalists across the national network to ensure news content is current, accurate and consistent.

WorkingArrangements:

Ourcasualnewsreadersarerequiredtocoverleaveandbeavailableduringpublicholidaysandweekends(dependingonyouravailability).Youwillworkcloselywithouron-airteamsaswellastheNationalNewsroomOperationsManager,ProducersandAnnouncerstoensureonairnewscontentiscurrent,accurateandconsistentwithbrandstyle.

Asacasualyouwillstillhavetheresponsibilityfordeveloping,writingandeditingonairnewsbulletinsaswellasbulletinsforournewspodcastoffering"TheUpdate".You'llhavetomaintainthesmoothrunningofnewsbroadcastsbyensuringcontentiscompliantwithallbroadcastcodesofconduct.

AboutYou

- Experience in a regional or metro radio newsroom (essential)
n
- Passion for news and current affairs with a news presenting voice to suit the Nova brand
n
- Strong understanding of local, national and international news affecting the community
n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting
n
- Accuracy and excellent attention to detail
n
- Competent in broadcast systems
n
- Effective time management and deadline management skills
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
n
- NewsBoss and Zetta experience preferred
n
- Accesstofirstclassequipment
n
- AccesstoALLvacantrolesBEFOREtheyareadvertisedexternally.
