We represent a prestigious Australian corporate law firm.

The Intellectual Property team is now in need of an intermediate-level lawyer to join their Sydney office.

n

Property Team

n

The Intellectual Property group advise on the full spectrum of IP law—including copyright, patents, designs, trade marks, brand protection, false advertising, data protection, commercial licensing, cyber security, and anti-counterfeiting.

They are a pre-eminent practice in Australia and the wider Asia Pacific region.

The Role

n

As a lawyer in the IP team, you'll work with a diverse mix of Australian and international clients across sectors such as media, FMCG, tech, healthcare, fashion, mining, and financial services. The role offers exposure to complex patent disputes, cutting-edge technologies (including those in mining innovation, therapeutic goods, and renewable energy), and a blend of litigation and advisory work.



You'll collaborate closely with partners and the firm's ESG group, gaining hands‐on experience in a supportive, high-performing team.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need a strong interest in high‐profile, market‐leading and technically challenging matters – principally in relation to patents. You'll be ambitious, capable, and eager to be recognised for your impact.

In addition, you will have the following:

n

n
- 4+ years' post‐admission experience in a litigation or IP‐focused role.
n
- Exposure to or interest in patent litigation, ideally in science, engineering, or technical sectors.
n
- Exceptional analytical, drafting and communication skills.
n
- The confidence to work independently and the judgement to seek guidance when needed.
n
- A team player with a proactive mindset and a commercial approach.
