About the role
n
Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast is seeking applications for a casual Theatre Orderly to join our team and support our wards. This casual role operates on a rotating 24/7 roster, including morning, afternoon and night shifts.
n
Based at our Gold Coast Campus, this role will be part of our state-of-the-art 339 bed facility located in Southport. This facility was established in 2016 and offers a wide range of specialities across Emergency, Medical Services, Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Neurosurgery, Plastics, ENT, General Surgery, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care and Oncology.

- Prepare operating theatres and equipment for surgical procedures according to clinical requirements.
n
- Assist with the safe manual handling and positioning of patients, equipment and supplies.
n
- Clean and maintain operating theatres and equipment between procedures, following infection prevention and control standards.
n
- Support surgical teams across adult, paediatric and obstetric operating theatres.
n
- Work collaboratively with nurses, medical staff and fellow theatre assistants to ensure smooth theatre operations.
n
- Contribute to a safe workplace by adhering to Workplace Health and Safety policies and organisational procedures.
n
- Participate in mandatory education, performance development and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
n

About You
n
n
- Demonstrated experience working as a Theatre Orderly within a healthcare setting.
n
- Certificate III in Health Care Support (Operating Theatre Practice), or equivalent,
or willingness to obtain.
n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
n
- Ability to prioritise competing tasks and remain organised in a dynamic clinical environment.
n
- Sound understanding of infection prevention, workplace health and safety, and relevant legislation relating to the role.
n
- Commitment to maintaining patient privacy, confidentiality and qualified standards.
n
