Cook Shire Council is looking for a Trade Assistant to join our Buildings and Facilities team. This is a fantastic opportunity to put your practical skills to work while helping maintain the buildings and facilities that our community relies on every day.

What you'll be doing

n

Working alongside our experienced trades team, you'll help keep Council's buildings and facilities protected, functional and well maintained.

n

n
- Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance work
n
- Assist qualified trades with construction, fabrication and installation projects
n
- Help deliver capital and other building works
n
- Keep worksites, tools, plant and equipment clean, safe and ready to go
n
- Travel to remote areas of Cook Shire when needed
n

No two days will necessarily look the same - and that's part of the fun!

What we're looking for

n

We're after someone who is practical, reliable, safety-focused and takes pride in a job well done.

n

n
- Current Qld Class C drivers licence (manual preferred)
n
- Construction White Card
n




- Experience in building, construction or facilities maintenance
n
- Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
n
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
n

Remuneration: Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream C: Division 2, Section 1) Award - State 2017, Level BW1 to BW2, Between $68,052 and $71,796 per annum

Leave entitlements:

- 5 weeks annual leave per annum

- 15 days personal leave per annum
n
- 9 day fortnight
n

n

Superannuation: 12% Superannuation contributions
