The Role
n
As a Senior Property Officer, you'll provide trusted commercial property advice that helps the business make smart decisions about land acquisition and access. You'll play a key role in securing value for money, managing opportunities and supporting the organisation's strategic priorities and key business activities.

Your Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Lead the timely acquisition of land and land interests needed to support the delivery of major projects.
n
- Provide expert property advice to project teams and help develop and deliver effective land acquisition strategies.
n
- Proactively identify land requirements and opportunities to support capital works projects.
n
- Provide strategic advice on land access to help projects progress smoothly and stay on track.
n
- Coordinate planning, environmental and other required approvals and processes.
n
- Work closely with project teams and consultants to manage cultural heritage, environmental and planning requirements.
n
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, consultants, landowners and other stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.

What we're Looking for
n
n
- Mandatory: Extensive property experience within a large and complex public sector environment.
n
- Demonstrated knowledge of Victorian Government statutory acquisition and compensation frameworks including valuation principles.
n
- Strong expertise in compulsory land acquisition, including managing statutory processes, compensation risk, consultant inputs, stakeholder negotiations and governance approvals
n
- Sound knowledge of property legislation, regulations and government policy.
n
- Robust knowledge of planning, environmental and cultural heritage approvals processes
n
- Experience with preparing drafts of land access agreements, leases and licenses
n
- Strong negotiation, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
n
- Tertiary qualifications in Property Management or a related discipline (highly regarded).
n
