Brunel is seeking an experienced LNG Loading Master to join a globally recognised inspection, testing and certification organisation supporting marine terminal operations in Gladstone.
n
This is a critical position responsible for coordinating the safe and efficient arrival, berthing, loading and departure of LNG carriers. You will act as a key link between vessel officers, terminal personnel, port authorities, pilots, shipping agents and other marine stakeholders.
n
The role is open to Australian candidates holding a Class 1 or Class 2 marine qualification.
n
Candidates with robust tanker, cargo-loading or marine terminal experience may also be considered if they can demonstrate excellent communication skills, strong safety awareness and the ability to learn new systems and procedures quickly.

Description
n
n
- Supervise the berthing, mooring and unberthing of LNG carriers.
n
- Participate in pre-arrival correspondence and vessel compatibility reviews.
n
- Conduct pre-loading meetings with senior vessel officers.
n
- Review and complete ship-shore safety documentation.
n
- Coordinate emergency shutdown testing between the terminal and vessel.
n
- Oversee the connection, pressure testing and disconnection of LNG loading arms.
n
- Monitor cooldown, loading, ramp-down, purging and draining activities.
n
- Maintain communication with terminal control room personnel throughout loading operations.
n
- Conduct periodic ship and jetty safety inspections.
n
- Coordinate shipping movements with port authorities, pilots and shipping agents.
n
- Communicate loading schedules, vessel clearances and expected departure times.
n
- Prepare and issue cargo documentation.
n
- Inspect contracted marine service vessels, including ferries, barges and crew boats.
n
- Maintain confidentiality between cargo trading partners.
n
- Ensure all activities comply with client, site, safety and quality requirements.
n
- Provide roster coverage for other team members when required.

Profile
n
You will be a safety-focused marine professional who remains composed in a highly regulated operating environment. You will communicate clearly, work collaboratively and build effective relationships with vessel crews, clients and operational stakeholders. You will ideally bring:
n
n
- Class 1 or Class 2 marine qualification, or relevant marine terminal experience.
n
- Experience in vessel berthing, mooring, cargo loading or terminal operations.
n
- LNG or tanker experience, although comparable marine backgrounds will be considered.
n
- Sound knowledge of shipping, port and marine operating procedures.
n
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
n
- A collaborative and team-focused working style.
n
- The ability to understand new systems and procedures quickly.
n
- Strong planning, time-management and organisational skills.
n
- A professional and customer-focused approach.
n
- Competency with Microsoft Office.
n
- Experience using OPTIMOOR or similar mooring-analysis software would be advantageous.
n
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Maritime Security Identification Card.
