About the Role
Looking for more than a traditional accounting role? We're seeking a commercially minded Accountant to join our finance team, working alongside the Head of Finance and partnering with stakeholders across the business. This is a unique opportunity to step beyond transactional accounting and play an active role in supporting business performance, strategic decision-making, and operational improvement.
You'll gain exposure to all facets of the finance function, from financial reporting and cash flow management through to budgeting, forecasting, business partnering, and commercial analysis. Your insights will help shape decisions across sales, procurement, operations, inventory, and revenue management. Key Responsibilities
As a key member of the finance team, you will:
- Own the end-to-end finance function across accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, reconciliations, and general ledger management
- Prepare accurate month-end reporting,
including profit and loss statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and consolidated financial reports
- Manage cash flow forecasting, monitoring, and working capital initiatives to support business growth
- Oversee merchant facility reconciliations, including EFTPOS, credit card, and online payment platforms
- Maintain inventory accounting, cost accounting, and revenue recognition processes to ensure operational and financial accuracy
- Prepare management reporting packs with financial analysis, commentary, and business insights
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities
- Provide commercial analysis around pricing, profitability, margins, and business performance
- Develop and enhance KPI reporting and performance dashboards
- Partner with leaders across operations, sales, and procurement to support informed decision-making
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, controls, and data quality
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies
About You
You're a proactive and commercially aware finance professional who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems, and contributing beyond the numbers. You will bring:
- A degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- 3-5 years of experience in an accounting, management accounting, or commercial finance role
- Solid experience across financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end processes, and general accounting functions
- Practical knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and cash flow management
- Advanced Excel skills, with exposure to Power BI or similar reporting tools highly regarded
- Experience working with ERP systems and finance platforms within a commercial environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with excellent attention to detail
- The ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- A proactive approach, strong organisational skills, and the confidence to drive improvements
- A collaborative mindset and a genuine desire to contribute to team success
