Job Description
Our client is a growing specialist insurance business with a strong presence in the commercial market. As the business enters its next stage of growth, they are looking for an Operations Administrator to join their commercial bonds team.
n
This is a hands–on role managing the administration of a portfolio of commercial surety bonds, working closely with underwriters, brokers, clients and other stakeholders.
n
About the Role
n
You'll take ownership of the full bond administration lifecycle, from initial request and issuance through to invoicing, variations, reconciliations, reporting and release.
n
The role is central to keeping the portfolio accurate and running efficiently, while providing essential operational support to the underwriting team.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Manage the end-to-end administration of commercial bonds, including issuance, variations, renewals, cancellations and releases.
n
- Review requests and supporting documentation, ensuring key details are accurate and requirements are met.
n
- Prepare bond documentation and coordinate electronic execution.
n
- Manage invoicing, credit notes, receivables and payment follow-up.
n
- Maintain accurate bond registers and complete regular reconciliations.
n
- Prepare portfolio, premium and exposure reports.
n
- Maintain accurate records across internal systems and document management platforms.
n
- Act as a key point of contact for brokers, clients and other external stakeholders.
n
- Work closely with underwriters to prepare documentation, resolve administrative issues and keep transactions moving.
n
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and systems as the portfolio grows.
n
- Ensure day-to-day administration meets internal compliance, risk and quality standards.
n

About You
n
You'll be an organised, detail‐oriented and commercially minded professional who enjoys taking ownership and solving problems.
n
You'll ideally have:
n
n
- 3–5 years' experience in administration or operations within insurance, banking, financial services or a related environment.
n
- Experience managing high‐volume workflows requiring accuracy, judgement and problem‐solving.
n
- Hands‐on experience with invoicing, receivables and/or reconciliations.
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence dealing with external stakeholders.
n
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies before they become issues.
n
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook.
n
- A proactive, practical approach and the ability to work independently in a fast‐paced environment.
n
n
Experience with surety bonds, bank guarantees, commercial property, leasing, credit, lending or commercial contracts will be highly regarded.
