About the role
This is a 6 month contract position for maternity cover as an Analytics Engineer in the Customer Insights and Reporting team.
You will be responsible for leveraging large and complex data sets to build robust, reusable and optimised data models for use across the organisation.
You will have broad technical skills of developing strategic models to support a wide range of use cases for analytics, business intelligence, self-service and other data driven projects.
This is a hybrid role (2 days in the office per week) that can be done from Brisbane (preferred), Melbourne or Sydney.
What you'll do:
- Create standarised logical and physical data models, using best practices, to ensure high data quality and reduced data redundancy.
- Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingesting, transforming and storing data.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to understand data requirements and implement solutions.
- Work closely with the business and Customer Insights Analysts to surface enriched enterprise level views enabling data driven decisions.
- Provide support to data quality and data validation through analysis of data and assisting in understanding the meaning of data.
- Help drive continuous improvements to data quality procedures and a consistent approach to how data quality is measured, monitored and reported.
- Ensure data governance standards are incorporated at the implementation level.
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience with Cloud based technologies and databases - GCP is essential.
- Strong experience in SQL and dbt is essential.
- Hands on experience in designing and implementing dbt pipelines, setting up monitoring and troubleshooting issues
- Confidence in collecting, collating and interpreting business requirements in order to produce quality outcomes.
- Experience working with product managers, platform owners and different stakeholders to gather data requirements and provide solutions.
- Experience in data engineering with in-depth knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes and data integration techniques in cloud environments.
- Experience with ThoughtSpot is advantageous but not essential.
