Apprentice Experience & Retention Officer
Part Time (0.4FTE), Fixed Term Until 31 December 2026
Location: Any Campus
Salary: $82,109 - $86,821 per annum plus superannuation (PACCT Level 5.1-5.3, Victorian TAFE PACCT Staff Agreement 2025).
Support apprentice retention through wellbeing training, mentoring and resilience-building in a part-time fixed-term role.

About the role The Apprentice Experience & Retention Officer will collaborate across the organisation and with industry partners to monitor and support apprentice progress, ensuring they receive timely assistance with welfare, wellbeing, workplace, training and other personal issues that may be a barrier to their success. The role will also be responsible for delivering mental health training and support initiatives, helping apprentices and relevant staff build greater awareness, confidence and capability in recognising and responding to mental health and wellbeing needs.
About you
You will bring
- A Degree in Social Work or similar qualification,
with relevant experience in an RTO or TAFE environment, or a combination of lesser qualifications and recent experience within a similar role.
- Experience in delivering Mental Health training.
- Ability to develop standardised operations to ensure that apprentices are managed and supported respectfully and consistently.
- Welfare and/or wellbeing experience to support students at risk of disengaging from their studies.
- Administration/business skills to monitor outcomes of training plans, and develop systems to support Apprentices with the Competency Based Completions verification process.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a high level of verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
- Proven ability to build relationships with apprentices, staff, and external partners to create a supportive and effective learning environment.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office and other systems to maintain accurate records and generate reports.
- A flexible and creative approach to aligning support activities with operational needs.
