Asian Cuisine Cook Wanted – Oriental Chef Devonport TAS

We are looking for a part time cook to join our Asian restaurant team in Devonport,

Tasmania.

We are not looking for a highly experienced chef — if you have some hands-on experience with Chinese wok cooking and are willing to learn, we are happy to provide further training.

What we’re looking for

- Some previous experience using a Chinese wok in a restaurant or takeaway

kitchen
- Familiar with basic stir-fry cooking and working with high-heat wok burners
- Reliable, responsible and willing to learn
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment
- Available full day on weekdays and Saturdays
- Long-term availability preferred

Experience with fried rice, noodles and Chinese stir-fry dishes would be highly regarded.



Both experienced wok cooks and junior cooks with some Chinese wok experiences are welcome to apply.

Job responsibilities

- Follow recipes and maintain consistent food quality
- Prepare ingredients, including vegetables, meat, noodles and sauces
- Operate wok burners safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards
- Work cooperatively with other kitchen staff during busy service
- Assist with general kitchen duties as required
