Position Details
St Joseph’s School invites suitable applicants to apply for a full time, ongoing Assistant Principal position, commencing January 1, 2027.
St Joseph’s School is a Catholic co-educational primary school founded in 1913 and originally staffed by the Sisters of St Joseph. The school caters for approximately 165 students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and has a close relationship with St John the Baptist Parish. St Joseph’s School continues to strive for the ideals of Blessed Mary MacKillop in its service to country children and families. St Joseph’s is also following the Make Jesus Real Model.
Moora is an inland town located approximately 170 km north from Perth midway between the Great Northern Highway and the Brand Hwy. The town has all the amenities that one would need, including two supermarkets, cafes, banks and a number of specialty stores. Moora is a vibrant town with a strong sporting culture.
Selection Criteria The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in the four key areas of Leadership:
- Catholic Identity
- Community
- Stewardship
- Education
They Will Specifically Demonstrate
- Experience in liturgy planning and staff support for sacramental preparation and celebration.
- A degree of competency in using and supporting ICT with staff and students
- A comprehensive understanding of how to provide an appropriate and inclusive education for Students With Disability, particularly around IEP creation and accessing funding and resources.
- A commitment to improving educational outcomes for First Nations students
- A commitment to prioritising student and staff wellbeing and safety, including experience with the Kimochi program
- A proven ability to lead staff/coach/mentor in qualified learning across the
Curriculum.
- Highly developed organisational and interpersonal skills
- An admirable record of developing positive relationships with students, staff,parents, the parish priest, and CEWA consultants.
- A willingness to work collaboratively as part of a flexible team, using both innovation and initiative.
Qualifications Required A minimum 7 years of teaching experience. Relevant Accreditation to Lead (or working towards).
An appropriate tertiary teaching qualification.
Current Teachers Registration with TRBWA.
Current Working With Children Check (WWWC).
