Pryan is seeking an experienced Automation Tester for an immediate contract prospect supporting a major Australian Federal Government digital transformation program.
The successful candidate will join a small team of Automation Specialists responsible for developing automated test suites and modules within an established enterprise testing framework.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced automation professional with strong hands-on testing capability, CI/CD experience and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple Agile delivery teams.
The role
You will be responsible for developing and executing automated testing across major ICT releases, including:
- Developing automated test playbooks, test scenarios and test scripts.
- Working with multiple Agile delivery teams to understand release scope and testing requirements.
- Undertaking functional, integration and regression automation testing for each Program Increment.
- Reporting and tracking defects identified through automated testing.
- Assisting with issue triage and resolution.
- Developing dashboards to report automated testing outcomes.
- Working with business areas, vendors and ICT delivery teams.
- Providing advice on automation testing tools and approaches.
Essential experience
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Experience working as part of a team of Automation Specialists.
- Strong experience with automation testing tools including:
- Selenium
- Postman
- Swagger
- Cucumber
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience supporting ICT projects within distributed or remote delivery teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent activities, priorities, dependencies and risks.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to independently develop practical testing solutions.
- High attention to detail.

Experience with:
- C#
- JavaScript
Security clearance
Applicants must hold an active Australian Government Baseline security clearance prior to commencement.
Location and working arrangements
Canberra is preferred. Hybrid working arrangements are available, comprising a combination of attendance at the office and remote working. Where accommodation is unavailable, remote working may be accepted.
Contract
- Australian Federal Government
- APS6-equivalent level
- Contract through 30 June 2027
- Up to 40 hours per week
- Immediate / near-immediate commencement
